Lt. Governor Catherine "Rodham" Knoll shows up uninvited to a Marine funeral and starts bashing the war and handing out business cards. The Marines family is furious. Knoll is reported to have said "I want you to know our government is against this war"

This happened 7/19. Why is this not being widely reported?

I am so tired of the "elite" media ignoring Democrat screw-ups but would make this front page news if it was a Republican.

www.worldnetdaily.com...

The Lt. Governors name is really Catherine Baker Knoll. But just like we do in Louisiana with our current governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. We change the maiden name to Rodham to show the ties to their idol, Hillary Rodham Clinton. So Kathleen becomes Kathleen "Rodham" Blanco.

Thanks for explaining your particular dysfunction.

I swear every misogynistic limbaugh listening deviant must have a domineering mother figure in their life that kept their penis in a pickle jar until that age of 21. It's the only explanation for their politiporn Hillary fetish. No wonder the NYC dommes made so much money during the RNC convention. The Louisiana delegates in particular had probably never spent a night away from Mama before.

Excuse me, Rant, but are you ignoring the very disgusting topic of the thread to simply take a swipe at Republican supporters? That is what it sounds like, but I might be wrong.
Somebody oughta take away Al Frankenites' keyboards until they are 51.

I was trying to ignore the disgusting source and focus on the second half of the post which actually proved the most illuminating.

But you want me to respond to WorldNutDaily? K...

I've got it down now since all their BS is the same. Let me guess. Is this the article?

Some dude called us and made outrageous claims about something so minor as to be unverifiable. We're milking the hell out of it with twists, turns and innuendo, again that's all unverifiable. Our opinion of another's opinion about events, which may or may not be true, is not being reported anywhere else which serves as proof it must not only be true, but part of a larger conspiracy. Please spam your buddy list, post this on FreeRepublic, LittleGreenFootballs, RepublicanOperative, TribulationFarces any freaky deaky Dobson and Moonie discussion board you can find (and ATS if you get a minute) and we'll engineer us a bona fide #-storm out of empty wind and farts in no time.

Am I close? Let's see...

According to Sgt. Goodrich's sister-in-law...

I'm done.

No really. At least this time they claim a source with "The Goodrich family is furious, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette" though I sure as hell can't find it anywhere. (Have at it if you have less life than me.)

But as with knitting all BoildNutDoileys it's the detail work that makes you go blind and eventually just not care.

The article itself makes me not care in a big way. Some cabinet member of Pennsylvania (that apparently nobody in the party even likes) claims to speak on behalf of the US Government (according to some chick of course who also claims to be the one "campaigned" at with a business card). Wha and whatever. So quit voting for her. What do I care? I know less about Pennsylvania politics than a Louisiana used car saleman. And care far, far less apparently.

The story at post-gazette.com can be found here:

www.postgazette.com...

This is pretty outrageous behavior and I personally don't know why even the staunchest of anti-war Democrats can't just admit it. I don't understand why it wouldn't have gotten wider news coverage.

It took me about a minute to find this on Google and maybe a minute to find it on the post-gazette site.

The woman in question is the Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania and the "some chick" you refer to is the dead Marine's sister-in-law, who, the article states, still has the business card.

If this is true (I dont doubt it is) it is one of the most discusting things I have ever heard.

that is what I love about being Libertarian, you can call a jerk a jerk without waiting to see which party he belongs too first.

My "outrage" is implied in the ridiculousness of such a minor state official claiming (or being claimed to have) spoken on behalf of the government. Just like I said. And I still don't care. I suspect things are different up there in the north, but I'm not qualified to comment like you fellers.

All I know is it doesn't matter what you want or think down here. Every slack jawed yokel Republican in the state from dog catcher to Senator (Except Libby Dole as she can't find NC on a map) is going to wrap himself in a flag and come to your dead son's funeral and talk about how great Bush and the War on Terror is and get his picture in the paper. But I suspect that kind of campaigning is okay with everyone here. And any grieving anti-war sister in law
would just have to suck it up and learn to face facts and pull herself up by her bootstraps and lots of other good old notions about just getting over it that don't make you feel any better when you lose a loved one and just want to lash out at anyone in striking distance, because not only is WorldNetDaily not going to print it, but neither is the NY Times. Because who the hell cares?

Like I said, vote her out. The Dems clearly don't want her. She's probably a drunk. Maybe even a lezzie.
Plus she has a middle name, and that threatens men.

The Marine's family will receive written apologies, according to Govenor Ed Rendell:

Nothing more than a typical politician putting their foot in their mouth. Both parties have done the same type of stupid stunts. It is just more embarassing for the party when it makes CNN.

I disagree. This might be normal for this particular politician, but this is pretty far off the chart. This act makes Marge Schott and Margaret Mitchell seem like belles of the ball.

I dont think this was the 1st paper to post this.

I think the trib also a more surrounding paper might have and/or the lady called everyone in the news and told them..

I am not going to comment on this at all, I was just making note that I didnt ear about this. Although my g/f tried telling me earlier.. I didnt think it was a big deal.

anyway here is a follow up..

www.pittsburghlive.com...
Written apologies will be sent to a fallen Marine's relatives angered by Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll's uninvited appearance at the soldier's funeral and her criticism of the war in Iraq, Gov. Ed Rendell said Sunday.

Rendell said he will send a personal letter to the family of the late Marine Staff Sgt. Joseph Goodrich, of Westwood, and will ask Knoll to do the same. Goodrich, 32, a police officer and infantry unit leader, died July 10 in a mortar attack in Hit, Iraq.

Rendell said he hadn't spoken with Knoll about the incident, but was disturbed by the family's charge that she made a political statement against the war.

To me, this sounds like an unfortunate incident. That kind of crap happens when war is going on. There are a lot of people in pain out there.

Are you saying that having a Lt. Governor of a state appear uninvited at a funeral and start spouting anti-war rhetoric is an "unfortuanate incident" that "happens all the time when war is going on...?" There are a lot of people in pain out there and having bimbo politicians rubbing salt in their wounds in an effort to garner votes is inexcusable.
