The passport picture of alleged bomber Hasib Hussein was recently shown on the BBC, provided to the BBC by Pakistani officials:

The only problem is, the Hasib Hussein pictured here is a 16-year-old boy who is currently in Pakistan, having entered the country on July 15, 2005.

Here is the Scotland Yard handout photo of Hasib Hussein, the bomber:

Hasib Hussein the 16-year-old was recently interviewed on Pakistani TV about the mix-up:

An FIA official told the BBC: “We have nothing to say on the matter at this stage.” (Story on mix-up) (Has mistaken picture, BBC Spanish) (Story on mix-up)

This development casts doubts on whether the bomber ever visited Pakistan, as was claimed by officials.

This also has similarities to the case of misidentified 9/11 hijackers.
