This seems like some weird sh** to me !!

I live in a small community, (population 5000 - 7000), out in the middle of no where and this is whats been going on for the last 3 hours and counting.

It started at approximatley 1315 hours MST. I watched a convoy of approximately 12 - 15 semi trucks and cars enter town by way of an old alternate highway. There were no placards identifying cargo located anywhere on the tractor trailors. None of the trucks or cars in this convoy had any license plates or other identifying markings. All of the vehicles in this convoy were being driven by military personnel, (Air Force).

The convoy drove through town and pulled into a large parking lot where a perimeter was immediately set up. Military personnel armed with M16's (equipped with grenade launchers) then exited the cars and surrounded the now parked convoy.

After aproximately 1 hour the whole group pulled out of town just as a second convoy pulled in. None of the trucks or vehicles are marked as government vehicles nor do they give any outward appearance of being government related, (except for the heavily armed military personnel...lol)

Every hour, (still counting), the sequence has repeated.

Am I just paranoid or is this odd?

Probably carrying ammunition/ordinance. My guess anyhow. I used to work around Langley, when my father was stationed there, and it was an almost weekly occurance that a truck, a couple of trucks, to a convoy of trucks.....unmarked but yet were painted with US government issued and approved military paintings.
In this situation, more times than not, they are heavily guarded and 'tailed' by either military cars or unmarked cars.

Anyway, that would be my best guess.

In the oddness continuum, presuming that you live in the USA Today, I would say "Not Unusual".

Your government wants you to see this as normal, and in the blue zone of your Mood Meter.

Sounds like they were hauling munitions of some kind. Sometimes if they are on a sensitive mission the convoys will stop at predesignated randomly located checkpoints to check in with secrity before continuing the mission. This is most likely what you saw.

I agree with ghost. I think that is the most probable situation.

I would be willing to bet on one of two scenarios:

1) Hauling old chemical weapons to a place to be destroyed.

2) Transferring Nukes from point A to point B.

Usually, conventional munitions are carried by licsenced commercial carriers equipped with satellite tracking devices. Don't you remember the story of the truck driver who was hauling a semi full of conventional bombs who went missing for 3 days? When they finally activiated his tracking system they found him gambling in Las Vegas....truck parked outside the casino and everything.

Before 9/11, nukes and other more exotic weaponry could also be carried by special commerical carriers who were properly equipped and trained to do this. As I recall, Wackenhut was especially good at this. Truck drivers were heavily armed and the trucks themselves were much like armoured cars. And they were always escorted by a van or car with 2-3 more guards in the rear. The DoD had been doing this successfully for many, many years with the low-key, non-military approach being favored.

However, with the advent of 9/11 I wouldn't be surprised if the service branches have decided to reassume this responsibility for their own weapons and warheads.

I'd say its pretty darned odd.

It could be the ghost fleet. The ghost fleet is a secret fleet of semi truck that transport weapons. They are part of the organisation that works for the government transporting hazardous waste and such.

They do that here at Ft lewis, sometimes.

It could also be some sort of training exercise?

One thing for sure..

They arent ferrying ammunition or explosives as those transports must, i repeat must have
"a danger of explosion signs" all over them..

This something else they are doing.. something secret..

Yeh, I'm a fan of the 'they were just moving #' stance. That's about all. Now, if they continue to do this for several hours, they're on maneuvers, or mobilizing, or something. That's my opinion.

I'm surprised no one has said something like "it's probably the NWO beginning to initiate it's plan to overtake the world!" or some # like that, haha.

It doesn't have to be the top secret plutonium nitrate X compound to have a military escort...

Like mentioned earlier it could be...

A)Munitions
B)Nukes (I highly doubt it though)
C)Spent Fuel rods for a nuclear reactor
D)Chemical wastes
E)Compressed gasses
F)Fuel in barrels

Keep in mind all the things listed have the risk of exploding. To me the most logical answers would be A, and C. Yes it can be munitions. Also C is very likely too... It is very well known that spent fuel rods (used in nuclear reactors) are now being transported all over the country through back roads, and small towns to a designated point where they are dismantled, and disposed of. Infact... the transferring of these spent fuel rods has caused much controversey in small towns... as most towns do not feel safe being on the transportation route of these trucks carrying the fuel rods.

It is very common for those trucks to also have military, or police escorts. In the event a truck was hijacked, and a rod was stolen by a terrorist, or anyone else for that matter... due to the properties of these fuel rods, they can be used to make a very effective "dirty bomb", or possibly used in an actual Nuclear bomb... all though the chances of the latter are slim to none.

Anyhow due to the description of the event I'm judging either A or C.

Do you really need 25-30 trucks to move spent fuel rods around?

oui

Yes. you do.

While the Fuel rods are actually small in camparison to the trucks, its what they're transported in that creates the need for so many trucks.

The fuel rods are first put into a specially designed holding container, and then are put into a large, large structure/transport device to make sure the fuel rods remain safe, even if truck falls of a cliff, blows up, gets vaporized, etc. The container itself is made of wood, steal, a lead layer, cement, and a slew of other stuff to keep these bad boys from getting blown up, or into the wrong hands... Alltogether including all the layers of the structure/transportation device it winds up being pretty darn big.

It sorta like a soda can I guess... Picture if you will a soda can. Pretend that the soda can is a spent fuel rod. Now lets put, in our minds, the soda can into a shoe box. The box representing the transportation device/protection device. So in reality the soda can is pretty small. Put it into the shoe box though, and the size greatly increases... Now lets say that your backpack is the truck...

If you were putting just the soda cans (fuel rods) into the back pack (The truck) you could put alot into the bag.

but

If you were putting the protected soda cans (the ones in the shoe boxes) into the back pack (the truck) then you'll fit in about 2 maybe... 3 if your really really lucky...

I hope that made sense.

Like i allready said: it cant be anything dangerous (fuel of anykind, munitions or explosives..).. as the trucks must be marked for the hazard.

But if it is something secret.. then the cars wouldnt be marked in anyway..
even if it was dangerous materials.
