There are reports that the explosive on the bus is of the same type used in the 7/7 London attacks.

those same powers existed before you were born - and during the height of the NORAID IRA blowing everything up , those same powers were not invoked.

Someone on another board is hearing from a friend who works in UCH, and this is what they said:

"My friend works at UCLH which has been stormed by police because the guy carrying the rucksack with the explosive at Warren Street ran for shelter in the hospital! Twat, apparently he's hurt."

Am I being dumb? Why would you need 30 armed police? Surely the more you use the more attention your gonna cause?

Also does anyone know if the've evacuated no essential staff from the hospital?

I'm not saying your wrong, all I'm saying is 30 is alot.

Well coupling that info of 30 armed police with the UCH memo saying to look out for the suspect. I would say the didnt know where he was and called in all that man power to search the entire hospital.

You'd need all the searching officers to be armed just incase they find him.

dh, back that up with some facts.

CabalX, more police quicker you can search the place.

Depends, really, on how large the hospital is and how difficult it'd be to secure it. Since most hospitals in the US have multiple ground-level entrances, I can easily see taking 30 LEOs to secure the site. Especially in the initial confusion.

Number 26 bus is said to be in Bethnal Green (George Galloways constituency) according to Sir Ian Blar on BBC just now

No, it's in Hackney (West end of Hackney rd.), it's still a labour seat. Close though.

Its in the Bethnal Green and Bow constituency.

Link

Police sealed off a major junction between Hackney Road and Shoreditch High Street. The bus was parked 50 yards up Hackney Road opposite the junction with Columbia Road.

I have been a local to this area for years. Your map shows a part of Hackney road about 2 kilometres away from where the bus is.

The constituencies are separated by Hackney road. This means that each side of the road belongs to a different constituency. The bus is parked opposite Colombia road which means it’s in "Hackney South and Shoreditch". A Labour seat.

In this picture the upper left side is "Hackney South and Shoreditch" Constituency, while the lower right side is in "Bethnal Green and Bow" Constituency.

As I said, close.

Edit typo.

Didn't think of that!

I hate quotes, today they are slowly sucking my will to live.

That would be a bit lengthy and off-topic for this thread at this time

One person was injured at Warren Street. There were reports the injured person may have been holding a rucksack containing the detonator.

Well, it seems the only person injured in this blast was the guy carrying the explosive.

There were reports a memo had been circulated to staff to look out for a 6ft 2in black or Asian man with wires sticking out of his top.

Tall man with wires sticking out....almost laughable!
