finally a big one, we have been waiting almost 10 years for it, there will probibly be another in a couple of months, probibly further north up near napier, this is the first big one for a couple of decades, im suprised it wasnt bigger, last i heard scientists said this one was gona be 9+ but it only reasched 7, good ole plates at least we know there still moving. Anyone heard if mount cook lost another couple of feet off the top like it did after the last big shake?

NC is doing alright, I talked to him last night about it a little bit as soon as I heard about it. I asked all Kiwi members in the seismic thread to report in so that we knew them all to be OK.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, it didn't affect me at all.

Earthquakes are pretty common here, and that one was in an area so isolated that it only bounced possums out of the trees and upset the skiers.



Heres a pic of earthquakes here for the last 10 years, the star bottom left was the last.

I live near that knob sticking out on the right hand side about 1/2 way up.

Avout 5 - 6 hours drive from the star
