This is old news but I just found it on snopes and was pretty amused. Apparently, in 1994, the Swedish Navy was desperatly trying to track down
submarines that were invaiding their waters. They'd pick up the sonar or radar signal, rush out to find the sub, only to be greeted with open water.
After some time, the red faced Swedish Navy came out and admitted it was probably minks making the sound waves in the water. Despite that, they
maintained their waters had been violated.
I was amused
