now, this topic i'm sure you're all familiar with:

"Bush 'doubts' Iraq will avert war"

President George W Bush has made clear he seriously doubts that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein will meet US demands and avert a military assault on his country.

news.bbc.co.uk...

but you may be less-familiar with this one:

"US warns Russia over Georgia strike"

The United States says it takes strong exception to the possibility of Russian military intervention against Chechen rebels in Georgia.

news.bbc.co.uk...

now, here's a quote from the first article:

"Mr Powell is meeting foreign ministers from Russia, China, France, and the UK, one day after President Bush warned that the US would take unilateral action against Baghdad if the UN fails to impose its will."

and a quote from the second:

State Department spokesman Philip Reeker: "We strongly support Georgia's territorial integrity and oppose any unilateral military action in Georgia,"

seems like hypocritical, double-standards to me.....

so, you're comparing Georgia to Iraq?

Come on, Bob, they are doing their best to drudge up some sort of comparison dirt. Give'em some credit. OK, so it is extremely lame, and the connection is lousy. Considering that they back a party that is nothing but one contradiction and hipocricy after another, I'd think they'd be able to do better than that, but still.
Way to go, guys. Keep up the good work.
I may need to explain something to you, though, Republicans aren't like you democrats, we are free thinkers and we feel no need to agree with our leadership at every step. It may surprise you to know that we are the kind to send our reps 2 chastizing e-mails to every one attaboy.

what I love about your political view point thomas is the amazing narrow mindedness.

"your attacking a republican that means your a democrat"

er, yes thomas...even though Q.O. and I live in england where there is no democrat party....even though we could be greens, conservatives, labour supporters, lib dems, socialists we must be democrats because in Thomas's tiny little world democrats and republicans are the only two partys that exist.

Its precisely this amazing naivety which makes your views on Iraq so hysterical, it demonstrates what an utterly spoon fead totalitarian understanding of the world you had.

presumably saddam, who also doesn't like Mr Bush, is also a democrat.

seriously Thomas, go read a few books or even simply tear your eyes away from CNN and go look out the window, theres an entire world of diversity out there.

Well you BOB88 compared your country to INDIA AND CHINA when we were discussing kyoto, so it is ok to compare your country with them but not to compare Georgia to Iraq. Could you please give me a copy of your rule book??!!

Bush is a wee fanny. He is choking for a war with Iraq. He demands they have inspections and they agree and he says they're stalling for time.

Well judging on saddam's past history, I'd have to say he is right. Aren't we supposed to learn from histories mistakes and not repeat them ?

I'm sorry, Lupe, did you say something? I mean did you try and say something intelligent? Of course not; I apologize for such high expectations.

Speaking of London, I understand there was a recent demonstration where 9,000 kind, peace-loving followers of the religion of peace (Islam, for those who didn't catch the sarcasm) made it perfectly clear that they have no intentions of assimilation into the British culture but intend to destro smae said culture and replace it with Islamic culture.
Of course, that shouldn't bother you, Lupe, when one believes in moral relativity, one can stomach anything. Except, of course, conservatism.

I tried to point out that your reaction that our anti bush statements meant we supported the democrats is indicative of your introverted understanding of global politics.......in fact actually I didn't have to try you managed it all on your lonesome.....

of course such an observation is hardly intelligent, its blindingly obvious, however I do take solace in the fact that its at least on an academic par with one who would use the term

"Destro smea"

I guess I should assume you meant "destroy same" but your arguments are so unimaginably garbled I feel reticent about trying to disseminate the meaning behind any of your bizarre warbling's.

One thing you have to think about is we're looking at a mind game here too. Bushs' best hope would be to get Iraq to disarm without a war. He would really win then. It is a possibility.

To bluff, bluff in the zone of believability. Too much and you better back it up. Too little and it won't be taken seriously.

Mad Scientist,
I have no liking for Saddam, however, I feel Bush is just after the oil and is determined to colonize Iraq.
Where did this Iraq thing come from anyway I thought Bush was after big beard in Afghanistan. This is surely a diversion for what's going on in the drug factory.

[ Quote: I feel Bush is just after the oil and is determined to colonize Iraq. ]

I know, I've heard the "oil and submit to America, World" theories and I can see the relevance.

But, why should anyone be fair to you if you can't be fair to them. It would take months/years of diligent studying ( I might add this would not be the case if you live through something by example; meaning you learn best when you go through it yourself ) to come to this conclusion.

No slight intended!

Wow, so when you want, you can actually use there and their properly, but no matter what words you use, you still make no sense
Understanding of global politics? What a laugh coming from someone who thinks that glad-handing terrorists will stop attacks. This has been proven wrong and deadly for decades.
Your response is right on target for what I'd expect out of a moron, yet, as usual, it brings no facts or evidence of anything to the table. As usual, you are just an irrelevant little perv that is NVA

"This has been proven wrong and deadly for decades. "

actually its currently been proven right in Ireland.
we used to try shooting them, that seemed to generate more of them. now we're talking and progress is being made.

but don't take my word for it Thomas.
once you've finished dropping bombs on afghanistan and Iraq we can both sit back and rest for a bit, and, in a few months time when some 12 year old kid whose family were blown up by a cluster bomb drives a truck load of Uranium into washington and blows a nice big hole in the ground, drop me an email and I'll explain why he might be pissed off and why his mates are turning up next week.

Jesus, a few people have been digging into the petty pills I guess...

But anyhoo, a good little chuckle for the irony fans is the idea that we could have the situation where Bush ignores the UN and attacks Iraq, for ignoring the UN.

lol, nice one kano ... another bush hypocracy....

BUSH: "THOU SHALT OBEY UN RESOLUTIONS! you nasty little evil-doer you ...."

UN: "Bush, shut up. He's letting the inspectors in. Leave him alone."

BUSH: *pauses, has a quiet chat with his father and CIA buddies, grabs a hand full of aircraft carriers and storms into iraq* "THOU SHALT OBEY THE UN....."

lol.
