BAGHDAD (CNN) -- A fuel tanker detonated near a gas station south of Baghdad and killed 58 people, a bloody incident police are calling an attack.
The strike -- which occurred in Musayyab, in a volatile stretch in Babil province about 45 miles south of the capital -- also wounded 86 people,
police said.
Police say the blast destroyed a neighboring apartment complex and damaged a Shiite mosque and surrounding businesses.

This is the latest attack on a day when at least four other terorrist bombings or attacks took place, killing 3 British soldiers and wounding several
American soldiers and civilians. It just seems to be getting worse and worse for our soldiers and allies in Iraq, not to mention the Iraqui police
officers and civilians who die every day.
If we can not overcome the insurgent threat in Iraq with the U.S. and allied troops we have stationed there maybe it's time to bring them home and let
the Iraqis work it out themselves. It seems obvious to me that if Bush and the Pentagon don't get serious pretty soon about taking care of this
problem, we will end up with thousands of dead soldiers and civilians, and it will all be for nothing.
