Is it wrong to dissect a post by asking questions, providing alternate evidence and/or opinions, or pointing out flaws in logic?

Is it wrong to offer an opinion or piece of proof that discredits a claim someone makes elsewhere?

Are we posters so insecure that we just can't take someone else disputing or disagreeing with us?

Or are we simply meant to take as gospel the opinions of anyone, simply at face value, because it's more PC to do so?

That's not denying ignorance.

That's dancing hand in hand with ignorance, right on the beach, under the stars, before becoming betrothed to ignorance and living happily ever after.

(And it's "she", just for clarification
)

How are we ever meant to learn, if not by questioning or offering up two sides to a story?

Right, but in the end the goal is to find the one "real" truth for many. Whatever that is people will have to accept it one day, it will come wether anyone is ready or not.

People are taught to question, but not to openly question authorities.

I mean, how else can they get away with asinine explanations like swamp gas or ball lightning?

In a crisis situation who do you listen to, the policeman or some guy off the street? Even if the guy off the street knows more than the police officer, the masses will look to the officer for guidance as they have been raised to do.

Its all psychology.
