Plans by an alliance of rightwing extremists and football hooligans to exact "revenge" on Muslims after last week's bomb attacks are being monitored by police.
The Guardian has learned that extremists are keen to cause widespread fear and injury with attacks on mosques and high-profile "anti-Muslim" events in the capital.

Football hooligans communicating over the internet have spoken of the need to put aside partisan support for teams and unite against Muslims. Hooligans from West Ham, Millwall, Crystal Palace and Arsenal are among those seeking to establish common cause.

As part of wider plans to generate a backlash, rightwing groups such as the Nationalist Alliance and the National Front are said to be planning marches. Extremists hope to hold a march along Victoria Embankment in London tomorrow.
It is also known that many mosques have received bomb threats since the attacks.

Attempts by the right to make capital out of the tragedy have created a powderkeg. Already extremist Islamist websites have told Muslims to be ready to retaliate.

The police have pledged to crack down on any attempts to provoke division in the aftermath of the bombs. Members of Scotland Yard's independent advisory group have been asked to liaise with borough commanders in the capital to reassure the public and make sure the police carry out their pledges.

WOW, it appears as though more people want to die than once thought. I personally don't think they'll go through with this, as there is no cause for a fight. There's nothing to fight for.

Should the football extremists start the fight, the real question becomes how long would they be planning to keep it up for. As there is no quitting once a fight starts. The only thing to come out of something like this is to see everyone you care about start to die, at which point fear would be the motivation and the drive to survive.

I'm affraid it'll be more like the extremist non-muslims against the unlucky normal muslim people living in the UK.

Seems to me that they football gangs are just looking for fights anywhere and this gives them a convenient excuse.

Would be rather funny if these non-muslim extremists knew where to find all the muslim extremists and actualy fought them, while the goverments of the world are spending billions if not trillions in finding the extremist muslims that do terrorist acts and turn up zilch most of the time ...

there is a march planned for saturday in london and on the 22 (i think) by the nation front and or bnp, the fact the there are some football clubs that have a hooligan element and within that element there is a group of white supremiscts, this has led the paper to ''assume that hooligans from all over the counrty are going to descend on London and start fighting....incorrect!!!
first west ham have NOT got a large following of racist hooligans, nor do arsenal ,or crystal palace.
the main team in london to have a hooligan element and within that a rascist element are chelsea..(C18) COMBAT 18..
i think if the paper wants to keep reporting good honest news it should look at the smaller clubs up north where they have a very big hooligan/rascist element, like stoke, oldham, burnley, carlisle.
and where racial tension is very high at the moment .

Hi, first post and all but wouldn't that just do exactly what the terrorists want. Start a racial battle and therfore a divide which would surely create new members for their cause and in a worse case situation maybe a very large scale conflict across the world.

(For those who don't know, Barking and Dagenham - my old stomping grounds - are very much 'East end' London and pretty 'working class'.
Maybe not quite as deprived as say a few of the inner London boroughs but not very far off.
Large public housing developments sit with private housing and there is a significant (minority) immigrant population there.
The big Ford works at Dagenham dominates the area.
There were small scale riots when the Bosnian Muslims, who had fled the Bosniam war, were temporarily settled there in numbers and obviously the BNP thought they'd exploit that too.
Many of those Bosnians have since returned home now that the war has ended.
Once again London's working class turns its back on the British far right......something they always seem to do.)

i have a muslim family who live near me, but i dont think there has been any trouble at all.

I live in a heavily Muslim area of my town, one of the two Mosque's is actually at the top of my road (I go there every so often to discuss things with the Cleric) and I was told by an Asian guy I know about the problem two nights back.

It's a shame, but alas it'll allow the Police to get a hold of a few idiots and put it on their records.

These "soccer-thugs" are some tough MFer's.

My father-in-law is English (Torqey) and he told me these kids are not afraid of mixing it up. Their manhood has not been totally watered down yet (Socialism) and if theres anyone that will stand up to the Muslim gangs on the streets.....its these guys.

You see, as much as I disagree with their actions (jumping innocent Muslims), these may be the ones that save England from Muslim domination. There has to be a "balance" in the streets.....look at France, the streets are pretty much run by Muslims and theres no red-blooded white males to offset that.

These "football Hooligans" will strike fear into the Muslims living in England (Im not saying thats good), but it will keep some of them in line.

And they're cowards, everyone who has to fight in some sort of "gang" is a coward not a man. It's a thugs way of fighting, having to out-number someone because it is the only way they can win.

The so called "violent" culture and/or "thug" culture is not done by Muslim youths in the U.K. nor is it in France (which I've been to enough to know) and is just racially motivated bull #.

As for it striking fear into them? No actually what it did round here was nearly end up with someone being shot or stabbed. Good way for Society to function and just what the terrorists want "Muslim" vs "Non-Muslim", glad you wish the same thing to happen and our Nations to fall in upon themselves.
