Chief Justice Rehnquist Hospitalized for Fever (moved from ATSNN)

80 year old Chief Justice Rehnquist was hospitalized for fever last night in Virginia. He was admitted for observation and testing. There is no news yet as to his condition.

The 80-year-old Rehnquist was taken by ambulance to Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., on Tuesday night and was admitted for observation and tests, Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said.

There was no immediate word on his condition Wednesday afternoon.

Apparantly he has been going to court every day, despite his Thyroid cancer. He did not appear today, due to the illness. There is new speculation that he will soon retire, giving Pres. Bush a chance to appoint to supreme court justices.

Best wishes for recovery for Justice Rehnquist, and I hope that this new illness is not too serious.
