Four homes in West Yorkshire have been searched by police investigating last week's London bombings.
Officers from the Met Police were assisted by the West Yorkshire force in an intelligence-led operation, a police spokeswoman said.

She said officers were searching a fifth address in the area, but no arrests had been made.

Some 52 people were killed and 700 injured in last Thursday's explosions.

Police are searching five properties in the Leeds area:

Parts of Colwyn Road and Tempest Road in the Beeston area, south of Leeds city centre, have been sealed off by police.

Sir Ian confirmed the raids were part of the bombing investigation.

Another attack is likely, there's no question about that

Sir Ian Blair

He said: "There have been a series of searches carried out in Yorkshire. Those searches are still going on.

"This activity is directly connected to the outrages on Thursday."

Speaking on BBC London, the commissioner said London, as well as New York, continued to be "major terrorist targets".

He said: "Another attack is likely, there's no question about that. When, who knows."

A controlled explosion means nothing. They'd carry out a controlled explosion on a sealed tupperware lunchbox if they thought it contained something nasty (nastier than warm day-old fish paste sarnies).

They usually just send in one of the tracked robots that fires at the suspect package. Not really an explosion as such, just a means of detonating a device safely without human intervention, if indeed it is an explosive device that is being investigated. This is done more than you'd think.

Breaking! (source ITVN)

The raids this morning have had a computer taken away. One of the cars outside one of the homes this morning is "very important" to the investigation, but will not comment on it.

One man has just been arrested in west Yorkshire in connection with the attacks.

The news comes as armed police search a house in Leeds after the Army used a controlled explosion to get in.

Hundreds of people had already been evacuated from the area around Hyde Park Road, Burley.

No one was in the house at the time but armed officers had been used as a precaution.

Five other homes in Leeds had earlier been raided by police hunting the terrorists behind last week's attacks.

Neighbours at one of the addresses said a 22-year-old man who lived there with his family had gone missing.

Hours later, police evacuated Luton railway station and car park to recover a vehicle suspected of being linked with the terrorist attacks.

The car was blown up in two controlled explosions

source - sky news

One London bomber died in blast

Police believe at least one of four London bomb suspects died in Thursday's Tube and bus blasts.
Security sources said it was likely three men whose belongings were found at the scenes are dead - there is a question mark about the fourth bomber.

CCTV footage shows the men arriving at King's Cross.

Police, who have arrested a relative of one of the suspected bombers in Yorkshire, say they have CCTV image of the four arriving in London on the day.

Explosives material has been found in Leeds following raids there on Tuesday.

Police said the material found was a "significant amount".

Four bombs - three on the London Underground and one on a bus in Tavistock Square in the city centre - claimed the lives of at least 52 people on Thursday.
