There is also a very good write up on HAARP, its purpose and abilities on the ATS front page, and also another good one at hostileinvader.com
HAARP: Bogus. They have to shut down when geomagnetic storms occur, because the storms produce more effects than HAARP. It is in no way secret, you
can drive up during business hours and get a tour. Skeptic magazine, QST ( ham radio mag ) and Popular Science have all covered this. Posted by

If you read the seismic thread (which is the first link I posted here) you will notice that prior to May 2003, this was more or less true, that HAARP
tended to not be active during geomagnetic storms. However, starting about the end of May/beginning of June to present, HAARP is VERY active in middle
of geomagnetic storms. One of our theories is that this is done as a masking effect so that HAARP transmissions are not easily tracked from the target
area in the midst of such a geomag storm.
The facility that you mention as being low security is the original Gakona facility, which has been since turned over to the University of Alaska.
This is a red herring, built as camoflage for the actual facility, located at Poker Flats, 280 miles north of Gakona. Gakona is listed with a maximum
output of around 3 megawatts: HAARP has been monitored in excess of 3 GIGAWATTS. There are 3 other know HAARP facilities across the country, including
a newly built HAARP facility adjacent to Camp Hero, Montauk Point, NY, Fort Mead Maryland (the existing GWEN system has been modified to operate as a
HAARP array), and the newly built underground facility in Colorado, approx 60 miles from NORAD. This new facility is rumored to be capable of in
excess of 10 gigawatts output, which is FAR above the output of any scalar facility on the planet.
