The Viewsosts ratio is massively higher than it was two months ago.

Lurkers
Spooks
Banned members
Robots

All welcome?

* That was meant to say Viewsosts ratio, but it looks cute *

On a related, but less important topic:

'Stats' is missing from the top Menu Bar.

'Stats' is missing from the top Menu Bar.

As usual, the Cabal/Illuminati are trying to cover-up our evidence.

I removed the stats today. The size of our database so completely overwhelmed the poorly-conceived math of the XMB Forum writers, that nearly every stat was way off. (For example, it said we had 1.11 posts per day, and the hot topic list was all wrong)

Thanks!

Well, that answers Issue #2.

Number of views compared with number of posts as a ratio has increased.

It may not be possible to measure how in automated fashion, but increased 'views' might include:

* active members viewing, not posting

PLUS

* lurkers? spooks? banned members? robots?

PLUS

* any other category of 'origin of non-posting viewer' I couldn't think of.

Does an unregistered guest click constitute a view? I assume so.

Does whatever happens when Google searches content to determine/allocate sponsored links affect the 'views' number?

Compare with topics of months ago, I think you may well see the trend I am talking about. Or maybe not. This is superficial observation and guesstimation on my part.

We're getting much increased traffic has a whole. Our overall bandwidth consuption for August is shaping up to be a record for ATS at just over 60 gigabytes. Already we have served 1.4 million pages... and our previous best-month was July with just over 2 million. (For those familiar with these stats, you'll also realize that August is typicall a slow period for websites... just wait until September!!)

Also, our "visiting guests in the past 24 hours" number has recently always been over 2,000 and sometimes near 3,000. Google and other search engine spidering bots won't count in this number, because these are only guests who are accepting cookies.

And also, Google has done it's monthly dance last week. This means that each possible link will have been visited by Google at least once (in our case, the average is 6 to 8 times by different GoogleBot IP's).

Very interesting stats, all of them.

What a massive unknown readership.

Thanks.

Always on top of things you two are.

MA with the question, William with the answer. You guys are like the ATS Living FAQ.
