Russia is working to create weapons that no other country possesses, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said in an interview with the Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily.

Many countries are working on…modern weapons systems, including us. Naturally, not a single partner or ally of ours knows anything about it and nor will they until they are tested,” he told the paper.

In recent years Russia’s army has been reduced from more than three million servicemen to 1.2 million, and the military forces should be developed not by increasing the number of soldiers but by high-tech weapons, the minister said.

Russia yields to no one with regards to nuclear weapons, Ivanov believes. He explained that Moscow is not an aggressor as it was portrayed during the Cold War. However, although the possibility of a nuclear war is minimal, to ensure Russia’s security the development of nuclear weapons will not be halted, he stated.

Here are o few guesses of mine :

1- The PAK-FA 5th generation fighter

The fifth generation fighter plane under development at Sukhoi Aircraft Corporation is to make its maiden flight in 2007. "The development of the fifth generation fighter is proceeding in strict compliance with the schedule and the plane will be flight-tested in 2007," the Russian Air Chief, General Vladimir Mikhailov, said while visiting Kubinka airbase near here. Russia has offered India a stake in its fifth generation fighter programme and the issue was discussed during President A P J Abdul Kalam's recent Russian tour, when the Indian President visited Sukhoi Aircraft Corporation. According to Sukhoi sources, the experience accumulated during the implementation of Su-30MKI fighter project for the Indian Air Force provides a 'solid ground'' for the Indo-Russian interaction in developing the fifth generation fighter, which would match the US JSF project. According to Kremlin Military Aide Alexander Burutin, by 2012 the Russian Air Force will have up to 60 per cent of new inventory. "A new armament programme has been developed and we shall achieve this parameter by 2010-2012," Burutin was quoted as saying by ITAR-TASS.

3- Plasma stealth
PLASMA STEALTH

4- Manuverable, hypersonic, missile defence beating warhead

The Russian Rocket Forces reportedly tested a new missile warhead, which, in President Putin's words, were capable "hitting targets at an intercontinental depth," "with a hypersonic speed, high precision and the opportunity of deep manoeuvre in terms of height and course". It was heralded as Russia's response to the U.S. missile defense and the Russian military proudly claimed that the new warhead can penetrate any missile defense system.

Details of the test have never been officially (or otherwise) disclosed, but it is belived that the new weapon in question was a maneuverable warhead for the SS-19/UR-100NUTTH missile (although some reports say it was a SS-25/Topol missile warhead).

Good for Russia, even though I think they should be spending that money on securing the other half of their nuclear stockpile. Keeping their Navy from sinking to the bottom of the Sea. Buy their Army new equipment. Not too mention replace their rapidly deteriorating early warning satellites and ground-based radars. Which don't even work for up to 15 hours a day. Russia could be under attack from ballistic missiles right now, and Russian military officials wouldn't even know it until they saw a bright flash.

In 1995, Boris Yeltsin activated his nuclear 'football' because Russia's deteriorating warning systems mistook a European research rocket heading in the direction of the North Pole for an American ballistic missile attack. This was the closest the world has ever came to Nuclear war.

Wrong again Yeltsin activated it out of polocy, (Even though the space agency alerted Rus that it was launching a research rocket Rus out of precationary polocy has to be ready to strike just incase it was DIS-info that the rocket could have been a US PREemptive strike) I assure you USA does the exact same thing. and RUS satealights work fine WE have 150 of then only around 20-25 are out dated, trust me guy that stuff you think about RUS is what USA Gov through Hollywood wants you Americans to believe, it doesn't happen in the real world, USA want to you yanks to focus on all the small persentage of mishappes in Russia but they don't want you to know about the other major persentage of NO-mishappes, when your constantly being bombarded of Rus's mishapps your going to REALY believe Russia is rusty outdated we(USA) can take'em come on Americans lets declare war on Rus!! thats the final goal of US Gov people is to brainwash the American people to allow US Gov to declar war on Rus, but you can rest assure Rus will wip your military down town without NUke weapons.

Not to be downing/dampening this topic, but all of the above items that have been mentioned as being apart of "Russia working on secret weapons," have been overly discussed within ATS before.

As such, how secret are those alleged "secret weapons"?

Russia military is in the crapper. You'd know this if Putin didn't control your media (75th free in the entire world) . Russian Generals and Defense Ministers are always talking about the sorry state of Russia's armed forces.

Yes USA WASTES money, they charge 93 Million for a plane that worth 35 Million at the MAX. all this over charging spending is part of the NWO plan to suck dry economicaly all the powerful nations. P.S. All that Rus generals saying Rus military is in disary is DIS-info, if Rus was USA would have ordered (NOT asked) but ordered Rus not to build Nuke Power stations for Iran.
