Well I had that problem and all I did was delete the subscribed thread then found the thread and resubscribed to it. Thats what I did but I'm sure theres a more technical answer to this.

I've tried that and it comes up double again. I'll try it again and let you know. I tried a search, but got nothing meaningful.

I deleted it and resubscribed and it came up the same. I guess I'll have to live with it.

Well maybe it's just a glitch in the server, though now looking closely I have a few threads that are still double. Hmmmm maybe we can get a "higher-up" that knows how to fix this.

I'm getting doubles of that guy, too. Every once in a while, a thread does that, not sure why.

TSA, I've seen threads about this before, too, so you're not losing your mind

I'm honored you captured me in your screenshot!

EDIT: The CIA Vs. NSA thread does this, too

I searched around for an answer, but I only found this thread addressing the same issue...

politics.abovetopsecret.com...

I've had it happen before where 5 or 6 will pop up.....Now that can get annoying

It's Junglejake's account methinks.
Heh... at least that's the only thing I can figure.
Cause that "Since I came to ATS" thread was fine till JJ posted, and now it's tripled. T'were him the last time it happened to me too...

He must be stoned! Stone him!

(grin)

Just curious if making more than one post to the thread generates the additional listings????

When this happens to me I click the red x beside the offending entry and leave just one listing for that thread.

This works for me, hope it helps.

Now that a few hours have passed, I'm submitting a second post to this thread to see if a second entry shows up on my list.

I'll do an edit to this post to let you know what happened.
If no new entry shows up, I'll conduct a double blind study after formulating a hypothesis and establishing parameters for said study.
O.K., That last bit was bull

But I'm sure we can get a definitive answer from someone here.

Often this happens when the thread in question has a smiley in its headline.

I think it has to be in the headline of the initial post of the thread (the thread headline), but just to test it I´ve added a smiley in the "headline" to my post here. Now we´ll see if by any chance this thread will be doubled too...

I'll add a smiley as suggested and see what happens and I'll make a post as soon as the thread goes over to a second page to see if that makes a difference. The additional entry(ies) might be the link to another page of the same thread????????
