Joseph E Duncan 111, a level 111 sex offender who was a fugitive from justice has been charged over the disappearance of Shasta Groene and her missing brother Dylan. The children were kidnapped after their mother, step father and brother were found bludgeoned to death in May this year. It is believed from evidence found in the car that Duncan was using and by statements made by the surviving girl Shasta, that her brother is dead and authorities have found human remains in the area.

Joseph Edward Duncan III, a violent sexual predator arrested in the Shasta Groene abduction, was charged Tuesday with kidnapping two children with the intent of committing sexual acts or causing serious injury.

First District Magistrate Judge Scott Wayman ordered Duncan, 42, of Fargo, N.D., held without bail.

The girl and her 9-year-old brother, Dylan, had been missing since May 16, when the bound and bludgeoned bodies of their mother, older brother and mother's boyfriend were found at their rural home near here. Authorities have said they believe Dylan is dead, and that human remains found in western Montana earlier this week may be those of the boy.

The pair of first-degree kidnapping charges do not say who the victims are, but identify them as 8-year-old "S.G." and 9-year-old "D.G" because they are minors. The abductions, charging papers say, occurred during the period of May 15 to July 2, and that the children were held both in and out of the state of Idaho.

The intent of the crimes, the documents say, was to rape, seriously injure or commit a lewd and lascivious act on a child under 16 years old. Convictions can carry the death penalty or life in prison.

Duncan, who was raised in Tacoma, Wash., had spent more than a decade in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy at gunpoint and was a fugitive at the time of his arrest for allegedly molesting a 6-year-old boy in Minnesota. Wayman on Tuesday ordered him held on $2 million bail on the fugitive charge.

In a development of the case, bloggers the world over have picked up the story and stumbled upon Joseph E Duncans Internet Blogs, preserving them in their original form after www.blogger.com... removed his blogs from public view.

The blogs show the world through Duncan's eyes and mind and scarily hint that at least twice since his release from prison for raping a 14 year old boy at knifepoint in 1980, he has "gotten even" and not been caught.

The diaries point out that when speaking of the rape that he was sent to prison for that only two people know what really happened, the victim and himself and when he speaks of the events since being released, he speaks of being the only person to know what happened when he "got even".

Bloggers are now matching his journal entries to other child disappearances in the areas nearby Duncan's residences, especially in the disappearance of Leanne Warner, a missing child who is mentioned by name in Joseph Duncan's blog.

Great find Mayet. Who would think a person would blog this type of thing?

Again the question that has been coming up over and over, how are these people gettting back on the streets? Are there any that are capable of not being repeat offenders? Why do children have to die at the hands of demented criminals that are known and then freed? Something needs to change!

What a heartbreaking story

I want to know how you can set bail for a fugitive charge?! Is that insanity at its purest or what? Also what is a "level 111" sex offender?

I Truly think this monster has ceased to be considered human...
treat him like the rabid dog he is... (and that he treats others as)
shouldn't even require a trial...

just have the guards turn their back for awhile... save the populace some trouble...

As sad and tragic this has turned out to be, he still has rights.

Our legal system should afford him every one of those rights, including a speedy trial. When and if he is found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt........

FRY HIS SORRY ASS IN OLD SPARKY..... so that he never harms again.

Hey, a Trojan Horse just tried to infect me at zorasdomain! Watch your step!

Anyway, I was going to say, this guy is soo crazy he can't control his wackjob sex antics, AND kills three people...but he can maintain a blog site? Sounds to me like he is setting up evidence to prove he's crazy, just incase he really DOES decide to "get even."

I remember this dirtbag when I lived near Tacoma. Many of us who had children, who lived anywhere near the area, wondering how close this shadow of evil had been. Parents were afraid to let kids play outside in fenced yards, as if there was poison in the air. Many people demanded the death penalty and the bleeding hearts talked of "rehabilitation", "forgiveness", and the rest. People who'd known the victim then, people who knew the guy, *knew* he'd be back again. But the holier than thou, ever so tolerant folks got their way.

How many died because of this guy? little children, a family destroyed, a child traumatized.

We hear all day long of the consequences of making a mistake, of convicting the "wrong" guy, and all the reasons why we're "better" than the criminals. All the things that sound good, make some people "feel" better. But this is the reality. Just like that Canadian she-devil who copped a plea bargain and got out after molesting, torturing and murdering two schoolgirls. We hear their sob stories about wanting to live a normal life, and how they deserve a second chance....but if they truly felt proper remorse they wouldn't ask for or expect such things-they should accept the abuse and alienation as the due for their evils. For them to complain about media and coverage and needing a fresh start is them failing to accept the consequences of their actions. Same as this freak here. And others paid the price for "tolerance".

I hope those who fought so hard to keep this and other guys like him from proper severe punishment, have enough human decency to feel remorse. Though I fear, they also accept no responsibilty for their agendas and the results of their protests.

Its a fine balance though. You cant go executing everyone suspected of sex offences, on the other hand the likes of this degenerate shouldnt be allowed back into society.

Those who do serve their jail time and are released by the state cant be punished any further. Its the law that needs to be changed if we feel they are getting off lightly. Until the law changes, like in the Canadian case, we have to adhere to it.

Something has to change, but breaking the law is never an option. Vigilatism and anarchy is not the solution. This isnt being a bleeding heart either, its trying to strike a balance between public protection and individual rights for all (not just the suspected criminal).

Perhaps not many people viewed this blogging, but it seems a shame no one picked up on it and alerted the authorities. Especially considering his final post, stating the demons had taken over - two days before the last attack.

It also does seem suspicious though, in light of the fact that he was often discussing the struggle between right and wrong and finally determining he just couldn't tell the difference anymore. Isn't this the criteria for an insanity defense?

An article I just read stated the prosecutors will use this blog against him, but it seems just as likely this can be used in his defense.
