Recently ive become more and more interested in telescopes and star gazing in general.

I know there are two types of telescopes: reflecting and refracting. One uses a set of mirrors to gather light into an eyepeice and the other used a set of lens' to refract the light to an eyepeice.

I am planning on building a telescope this summer and was wondering if any one can give me an idea as to which one is easier to build and which one is cheaper to build.

Does anyone have experience with building these kinda things? If yes, please respond, i would be more than greatful for some tips.

Does anyone know a place to find telescope lens's and/or mirrors.

Does anyone have blueprints or anything like that for a telescope?

Thanks in advance

Lots of info on this board and on the web. Pick up Sky and Telescope mag (has online site) and just google for telescope making. Dob kits are the way to start out, then again just go to a local star party (no need to buy or build and you can peep thru other peeps scopes)....

Sky and Telescope

Orion Telescope

Lots more out there so google away....
