MONTREAL - Vigilante death threats have so terrorized Canada's most notorious female inmate that her lawyers have made a last-ditch attempt to ban the media from reporting on her whereabouts after her release from prison on Monday.
One of her attorneys, Christian Lachance, said Karla Homolka, was in a "state of terror" about her release from a maximum-security prison outside Montreal. The 35-year-old former veterinarian assistant from a bedroom community in southern Ontario has completed her 12-year sentence for the rapes and murders of three girls, including that of her little sister.

Wow, there are so many issues raised with this story its unreal.
The law says that this woman has served her punishment and she is not meant to be punished further. Regardless of the severity of her horrible crimes, she cannot legally be punished any further.
But how does this pertain to gagging the press from releasing her whereabouts?
Well obviously parents should be aware if she has moved near them but does it have to be specific information pertaining to WHO has moved in? If the threats to her life are credible and the media releases her location regardless and she is murdered, is the blood on the presses hands? IMO, yes.
Those who want to uphold the law have to uphold it in all its shapes and forms, for good or for worse. This case is no exception.
