The key to surviving a nuclear holocaust is to make sure none happen. otherwise, its pointless. because if you dont get vaporized in the blast, the radiation will kill you slowly, and if you manage to avoid the radiation, the nluclear winter will kill off anything you might eat, and thus, youll starve to death.

Unless, of course, you have a concrete bunker underground the size of the pentagon with about 100 years worth of food stored in it, inside air ventilation, generator and fuel for 100 years to power up the thing, and enough ammo and weapons to fight off looters who might come and try to steal your food.

If you can pull all that off, you might have a shot

Then again, if you have that kind of resources and wealth, youre probably the Illuminati!

even if you live through a nuclear war, the outside world would be infected with radiation and would take 100 of years for it too disappear. So you won't step outside for the rest of your life.

Skandi.. here in Finland all that citizens have to do is to get the shelters.. our govermant has made them PLENTY.. most are dug in bedrock.. so deep that most can even endure direct hit from nuclear warhead.. 200kt or more.. and near miss has no effect on those.. GOVERMENT PROVIDES.. even in my town, (20-25k people lives here..) we have one BIG SHELTER, and many small.. The big one can shelter more than 10k people for period of 10 years..

The problem is UNI, you can stay in those shelters for 10, 15 years, will there be enough food? And once you emerge, youll emerge into a lifeless world, from nlucear winter. Nothing grows. Toxic, polluted, no more food. So, if food supplies dont run out in 10 years, you still come into a world you cant live in. Maybe mushrooms might grow, cuz they dont need light. But radiotion takes thousands of years to cook off and neutralize, sometimes millions, depending on what substance would be used in the bombs.

One nuke might not hurt the world, but if a full scale nuclear attack insues, with like thousands of nukes lobbed everywhere, by the superpowers, then were in big trouble. 6000 nukes in the US alone.

Did you know that 1945-Presentday.. there has been THOUSANDS of NUCLEAR DEVICES DETONATED.. By: US, USSR/RUSSIA, ISRAEL, SOUTH AFRICA, FRANCE, UK, CHINA, INDIA, PAKISTAN.. at least.. the problem comes when there is many DIRTY EXPLOSIONS.. meaning that that these devices detonate on ground level.. throwing contaminated soil all over.. but airborne or underwater detonations arent that bad.. NAGASAKI AND HIROSIMA BOMBS WERE DETONATED 600m over the ground.. so they were "clean"..
