This is good indeed. After over a month she has been found. Brother still missing. She was spotted in a Denny's in Coeur d'Alene only 10 miles from the scene of the murders and kidnapping.

CNN) -- An 8-year-old Idaho girl, missing more than six weeks after three people were found beaten to death in her mother's home, has been found alive, a police official said Saturday.

Shasta Groene was found at about 2 a.m. (4 a.m. ET), a spokesman for the Kootenai County (Idaho) Sheriff's Department said

Just an update, heard from the press conference, surprise, surprise he is a known sex offender. Time we stiffened the punishment for these "criminals".

Unfortunately, she's been in the hands of a real nut case:

Joseph Edward Duncan III, a registered sex offender from Fargo, N.D., has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Capt. Ben Wolfinger said at a news conference. Duncan also is the subject of warrants in other states for failure to register as a sex offender and in Minnesota for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for a sex offense, Wolfinger said.

Other charges in addition to kidnapping are possible, Wolfinger said. He said Duncan had lived in Fargo, N.D., since 2000 and his mother lives in Tacoma, Wash. Duncan was arrested on a rape charge in 1980 in Pierce County, Wash., Wolfinger said, and was arrested on July 3, 2004, in Minnesota in connection with a sexual assault at a middle school.

www.msnbc.msn.com...

So now we have these weirdos prowling rural areas to snatch kids for their perversions.

If he killed the rest of them, he'll get the chair.

Of course his defense will be that "it's an illness like alcoholism!", because this is what people already say...

“We don’t have any idea who Duncan is, other than a very, very sick individual. Sick and stupid to go to a Denny’s at 2 a.m. with a child,” Bob Price, Shasta Groene’s paternal uncle, said by telephone from Tacoma, Wash.

He is not a "sick" individual, nor does he suffer from any "disease", he is an individual who is a criminal, not an alleged criminal, but a known criminal.

Psychiatry has yet, after decades, been able to prove that it can "cure" many criminal acts.. oops!... diseases with any certainty. The Psychs have no defense when confronted with the recidivsm of sexual predators and other criminals. If they have "cured" someone then that person would have no compulsion or willingness to perform the act. Yet the Psychs stand before prison commisions and state that these criminals may be released because they feel the criminal has been "cured" and is "safe".

If you really want to eliminate crime... eliminate the criminals.

Yeah, where is that thread that was started not too long ago where posters did not want sex offenders to be tracked by a GPS satellite system. Of course, those same posters will probably not have much to say in this thread. How in the world these people keep getting out of jail is beyond me.

If you want to eliminate crime, eliminate the causes of that crime.

Eliminating the criminals won't stop or prevent the next batch from rising up.

And yeah, this guy is pretty sick.

Doesn't matter what kind of mask we throw on it - this is a man who is sick.

That doesn't mean though that he shouldn't be held accountable for his crimes though - why does that seem to be the perception of so many?

Agreeing that there's mental illness does not equate to suggesting the person is not punished, or somehow isn't responsible.
