Some really neat looking concepts in there. I really like that unknown britsh one a lot. A very clean design. I also like the mach-5 SR-71. Although it's tail looks a bit too big. Lots of other neat designs too. Thanks for sharring these.

Just imagine if these were built.

If? Quite a few of those morphed into the Eurofighter project I do like the 'Unknown' one, it looks extremely clean.

How do we know if some of them havent been built?

All grumman planes are similair. The nose area just often reminds me to the tomcat.

no proof i could put on the internet, i guess i could scan a picture i have but the picture was found in a file cabinet in a lockheed martin folder that belonged to my father from his testing days with lockheed. it was a black and white picture. im not sure if i should scan it. considering it doesnt belong to me.

Hmmm..why is it that many of them have forward swept wings? And, it seems that the German and British projects then morphed into the Eurofighter.

I like that Mach 5 SR-71 its sleek and very fast looking and that Grumman Stealth fighter. Nice concept images

Well, as a nice side anecdote, that thing did smash into its mother airplane once, shattering the canopy and ripped off the helmet of the test pilot. The ground observers got a pretty pale face when they saw what they initially believed to be the ripped off pilot's head tumbling through the sky. I'm sure a lot of people are happy it was NOT in production.

several are ATF concepts that did'nt make it and Eurofighter developmental models and losing competetors to existing planes.

Ah, the Gremlin. Several succesful launches, zero succesful dockings. The Parasite Plane was a bizzare concept. Would have been cool if it worked, but a very bizzare project.
