The US really needs to find something other than the military industrial machine to keep it's economy going. The rest of the world is just getting tired of the "Do as I say, not as I do" speech all the time. But US arrogance in not admitting that mistakes have been made and always blaming someone else are catching up to them.

Resistance is not always a war that is won by an empire??

What does that matter? What other country has had the same interests and responsibilities as the US?

I would have thought a few Central and South American countries would be on that list. Maybe I'm just watching too many movies.

Yeah, and? What's it matter?

The US bombed the nazis, that wasn't bad. The US nuked the Empire of Japan. That was an empire, not this silly little hegemony that the US 'has'.

Iraq, haiti, libya, north korea, kosovo and serbia, vietnam.

Why is bombing and attacking these countries 'a lot'? Sheer numbers? Compared to what? France? Bolivia? At least compare the US to another Global Superpower, or a regional great power for it's time.

How many countries would Iraq have bombed if it was the only global super power? How much more bellicose would the world be if the Japanese Empire was undefeated?

So whats 'a lot'?

Grenada and Panama are on the list.
It would be much longer if it included covert operation like support for the Contras and the various Coups in different countries.

EDIT: I forgot to include Cuba on my list.

1961 Cuba (Bay of Pigs)

Souljah. You, sir, are becoming ridiculous.

You didn't even bother answering the man's question, let alone go on to flame him. Here's the reason - and answer - to that question:

The U.S. has a responsibility, as the world's only true superpower, to defend the weak. This also means, in more recent times, to defend its' own interests.

Now, of course Souljah you may come back with the same ol' "let's hate America" standpoint, but hey, that's you buddy, not me. Truth is, the U.S. has done alot of good and some bad throughout its' existence, just like any human-made thing does. So, get over using your opposition to recent times as an excuse to flame everything the U.S. has ever done. Some of these operations were incredibly just.

Let's count them:

Kosovo
Korea
Operation Desert Shield/Operation Desert Storm
Somalia (though it didn't go as clean as first planned.)
Libya

The list goes on and on. These were nations and places that had leadership from thugs, criminals, hurting their own people.

I believe I'll finish by quoting:

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing"

-wD

The Japanese were just trying to liberate the Asian countries that had fallen to western nations. In fact, most of the nations they bombed or occupied were bombed or occipied by the US before or after WW2.

Hawaii , Phillipines, Guam, Korea, Indochina, etc..

The 'Asia for Asians' policy was all about 'liberation' and of course security for their own nation. Right?
They should have allowed to liberate nations just like the US.

If what Japan did seems wrong, then it must also be wrong for the US when they bombed and occupied those same nations and many more.

Wow, talk about rewriting history. Japan was after raw materials that they didn't have in their own country. They were trying to become a major power and needed materials to build up their military/civilian industries. And how does what they did to people in China count as liberating them? You don't drop chemical/biological weapons on people you're trying to liberate, unless you want to kill them and move more people into that area. And we won't even go into what they did to POWs. Bataan Death March? what? And they CERTAINLY weren't out to liberate Hawaii. The only reason they even bothered with Pearl Harbor was to eliminate the Pacific Fleet.

Wow, now that's a narrow view of history.

How about Vietnam? You and the USSR take your Cold War pissing contest to another nation and destroy most of it. Very nice.

Geeeeeze .. another big-bad-America thread. Who'da thunk it?
Let's just post military events ... forget the REASONS for them, eh?
Oh freak'n brother .
Sometimes you guys are a real hoot.

*************************************
1950-1953 Korea - Invited so as to keep Korea free from Communists.
1960-1975 Vietnam, Laos - tried to clean up the mess France left. (failed)
1983 Grenada (Operation Urgent Fury) - Getting Americans out of
harms way during unrest in that country.
1990-1991 Iraq (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) Invited by Kuwait and
Saudi Arabia to get Saddams invading forces out of Kuwait and
protect Saudi Arabia from invasion (Saddam had his forces lined
up on the Saudi border) The UN agreed to this action as long as
Bush 41 didn't go into Bagdad and take out Saddam. That's what
he did - what the UN said to do.
1992-1993 Somalia (Operation Restore Hope) The world screamed
'Stop the Warlords from starving the children' So we attempted
to do so.
1992-1998 Yugoslavia (Operation Provide Promise, MaritimeMonitor/Guard,
Sharp Guard, Deny Flight) Did ya' see the cover of either Time or
Newsweek? The men behind barbed wire being starved to death.
Genocide was taking place. Clinton went in and stopped it. The UN
wasn't involved in this decision. If the USA had waited for them to
figure it out .. hundreds of thousands more would have been
butchered.
1998 Iraq (Desert Fox) Upholding UN resolutions.
2001-xxxx Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom) - We were attacked
first from UBL's terrorist camps in this country. Going in was in
response to our being attacked first. It was the correct response.
2003-xxxx Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) Terrorist camps in the North.
Mass murders of hundreds of thousands of people. WMD used on
tens of thousands of Kurds. Mass rape and torture. Saddam constantly
threatening his neighbors (and our alleged allies). Violations by
Saddam of UN resolutions at the end of the first Gulf War - which
Saddam lost. A Coalition of the Willing (45 Nations) agreed to go in ...
the UN Security Council that was bought off by Saddam with Oil for Food
Money said not to go in (they didn't want their illegal funds to stop).
