This is from the head of the National UFO Reporting Center. He runs it on his own and is not controlled what so ever by the government, but the government is interested in what he has...

Is this statement from a website? A letter? Email?

Is this all that was said or is there more? Who did he meet with from the government?

Email response. More to follow once he responds to the other questions I asked him. Good stuff. The government IS interested in the UFO subject still to this very day!

In my opinion, the united states government is interested in "UFO's" but not in the same way ufologists etc are. They are not concerned with the possibility of alien craft (in my opinion) but in such things as spy planes etc.

Just my opinion. It would make sense if they want to follow up on a lead to get more information, so they ask someone with documented "cases".

Dear Eric,

Thank you very much for the note.

I have strong reason to believe that various branches of the government
are,
in fact, very interested in UFO's, including the FAA. There is an
office in
the FAA headquarters, which has investigated some of the more dramatic
UFO-related events, including the bizarre USAF intercept of an
unidentified
object near Waldorf, MD, in July 2002.

I have met with people from the U. S. government, who were looking for
amplification of some cases I had posted to the NUFORC website, and
they
stated to me unambiguously that they are concerned about the UFO
phenomenon.

Our organization is not related to, or responsible to, any government
entity. NUFORC belongs to me, and I run it the way I wish. The
government's position on UFO's, i.e. one of virtual silence and lies,
is my
adversary.

Your father may know of our organization, and the FAA's tacit
acceptance of
the possibility of UFO's, from the Aeronautical Information Manual.
Except
for the 2002 issue, all of them list our organization as the body of
choice
for the FAA to forward UFO reports to. The report from Omaha, NB, on
March
25, 2004, was submitted by Minneapolis Center.

Got this from my father today. This is the new most recent FAA rules for UFO sightings:


4-7-4. UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECT (UFO) REPORTS

a. Persons wanting to report UFO/Unexplained Phenomena activity should contact an UFO/Unexplained Phenomena Reporting Data Collection Center, such as the National Institute for Discovery Sciences (NIDS), the National UFO Reporting Center, etc.

b. If concern is expressed that life or property might be endangered, report the activity to the local law enforcement department.
