Firstly, having worked before as a trained social worker caring for people with severe epilepsy, worked in conjunction with epilepsy neurologists, and having a sister who also has epilepsy, I know that contrary to popular belief such flashing images will not trigger a seizure unless one stares at them for prolonged periods, and even then, their are very few who suffer from the disorder who will be susceptible to such triggers. Secondly, anyone who suffers from such a rare, hyper-sensitive case of epilepsy will not be surfing the Internet in the first place due to the inherent risk of encountering flashing advertisements and banners, just as they will avoid places that have fluorescent light bulbs and will avoid watching television.

But I appreciate the concern.
