The ADW is an intelligent antitank weapon for
the blockage of tracts of land as well as for the increase of the
clearing resistance of mine fields.

The development of the ADW was qualified broken off office-laterally
with successful conclusion of the definition phase; That means subject to a later resumption.
Company's the development is resumed.

FUNCTION
The ADW fights armored vehicles, drive past in a distance up to 160 m at it. The transfer by hand, from the truck or helicopter or by rockets is possible. The ADW is programming and with remote control. With the help of its goal approximation sensor technology the ADW is
able to already detect goals at large distances, to identify it up to the sufficient approximation and to compute the
most favorable time for target engagement. Carrier of the effect is a SMArt submunition, of the ADW according to the mortar principle one fires. The fight takes place from above in same kind as with SMArt 155 mm.
Thus already an individual ADW has a surface locking action.

STRUCTURE
The ADW system covers
* ADW ammunition
* Remote switching device
* Programming device
The ADW consists of
Programming acceptor of data,
* Airbag to "stand up"
* Remote switching receiver
* Electronics,
* acoustic -, seismic and radar sensor technology,
* Arranging system with stabilization paddles,
* Submunition SMArt 155 mm,
* Submunition starting system and
* Power supply.

Briefly after the impact of the first cylindric ADW on the soil the
Airbag is activated and blows themselves up. Thereby the stabilization paddles are folded up, so that the ADW sets up itself perpendicularly to the underground. In addition the microphone arms are swung out.
A goal approaches, thus it is detected by the acoustic sensor technology. The acoustics supply the pinpointing angle and steer the radar sensor
technology, which the goal distance additionally needed for a forecast of the goal
movement determines.
The ADW classifies approaching goals due to them own the acoustic and
seismic signature. The fire control algorithm recognizes the vehicle-typical
characteristics within the sensierten signal spectra, the future movement of the understood object differentiates on the
basis its goals and nongoals and estimates.
A goal was recognized and its trajectory with sufficient accuracy
certainly, thus the launcher tube is swivelled by an arranging system in
objective and according to the mortar principle a SMArt submunition is
fired on the goal.

The submunition describes a first parabelfoermige flight path, whereby still during the ascent the parachute cartridge opens and
releases the gerefften parachute. After the passage by the peak point the rotation screen is entrefft, a defined trick sinking movement of the submunition fills, with air
and causes as of the SMArt 155 mm of submunitions ago admits.
The submunition is employed with their longitudinal axis opposite the
parachute longitudinal axis, which leads to the spiral scanning of the soil by the submunition
sensor technology. The goal is detected by this sensor technology, the ignition signal for the p-charge is released. This hits the target and makes it disabled.

this thing can differentiate if the target is a Leopard 2, Marder, Fuchs or a T-something, BMP and so on by sound signature. Just positively identified vehicles are attacked.

One sniper armed with a .50 Cal is going to clear a path through these things in about 10 minutes.

Stealthy, they aint.

thats not their idea...

you can hide them good, as they dont need any contact with the vehicle, but jsut be in a radios of 160meters to it...

And who would search for them, if he doesnt know that they exist...

Wait if soldiers hide them under ground they have to be with radios within 160meters of them?

I don't quite know how you could "hide them good", since these devices are clearly intended to be air dropped or delivered by a sub-munition system, hence the "self righting airbag". They will sit wherever they fall.

As for seeing them, they look to be fairly conspicuous to my untrained eye, and they use millimeter wave scanning which will set off any half decent RWR on the target vehicle, and that would happen long before you got to within 160M of them.

The technology is interesting, but to me the concept is flawed.
