My question. Part of my list of "strange deaths in the bible":

That song is hilarious! It starts off a little slow, but by the end, I was laughing my butt off.

He fell, dead,

I'll try jj's question first. I'm guessing you are being literal, and will say that Lucifer was an archangel. Until he got fired for insubordination.

As to the quotes just put forward,

"Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones" comes from Psalms 137:9, from a song of the Jews lamenting being stolen away from their homeland and taken into slavery by the Babylonians. It certainly does end on a dark note, doesn't it!

The other one, "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him" comes from Numbers 31:17 and is God's command to the Israelis to take Canaan after running from Egypt and through the desert. It's interesting to note that they did not obey, and that disobediance eventually lead to the situation which caused Psalm 137 to be written.

Lucifer was the human King of Babylon, also know as the Son of the Morning or Dawn. He is named in Isaiah 14:12.

Rock, rock on! Funny thing is, no where is Satan called Lucifer, although the prophesy against Babylon is awfully similar in its assessment of Lucifer as it is Satan.
