I was reading some interesting things about the new CVF the British are building. One of the things they were talking about was the MASC (Maritime
Airborne Surveillance and Control) aircraft they were looking at. One of the more interesting ones was the V-22. Apparently, the two carriers are
going to be built as jump jet carriers to start with the capability to be retrofitted for conventional aircraft. The three prospects so far are the
AugustaWestland EH101 Merlin, ASC Variant, the V-22, and the E-2C/D.
The artist conception of the V-22 is VERY interesting. It has a triangular shaped radar antennae set on the back, like the E-2 and E-3.
