As a smoker, I wonder when all this anti-smoking crap is going to stop. To hear the commercials and ads, you'd think that smoking tobacco is worse than snorting coc aine or beating your kids.

We all know it's unhealthy, and addictive. And of course the tobacco companies lied about their product....Phillip Morris is a major corporation, so of course they lie. We expect corporations to lie, wonder about what lies they tell, then act surprised when we have proof.

And it's not just cigarettes either. Red meat, alcohol and Coca Cola are all on the activists hit list. Trust me folks, don't let 'em take the smokes away, because I doubt they will stop there. Sooner or later, someone will start a campaign against something else we enjoy.

You forgot the next target - fast food. Have you seen all the "healthy food" Mac D's is suddenly developing, not to mention all the "nutritiional " propaganda they are spouting. Fast food outlets are running scared of being accused of the same crime of addiction as cigerattes.

Mind you I have not much sympathy for smokers, as an ex smoker myself I have seen the light brother! and its not the marlbaro man, its my tax dollars being used to keep you cancer ridden smoke junkies alive.

... and put your F$$#$%en seat belt on as well so I don't have to pay for your hospital expences and fork out for your next 40 years sucking life through a straw.

That's one of the things that pisses me off about people in this country. We are a nation of blamers, unwilling to take responsibility for our own actions.

Hillbilly,
I agree that the anti-smoking movement is out of hand but in today's world everyone feels they must actively be fighting against the things they find bad, instead of working towards what they find good.

I don't want to see Pro-Smoking ads or Anti-Smoking ads either. Why not just make the product available so people can buy it or not?

They shouldn't be allowed to lie about the product itself and the harm it can cause, which they don't totally lie about it, but they don't tell you everything there is to know either.

I think if people need to be active they should be active by making sure the pro's and con's are presented so a proper choice can be made, not just fighting propaganda with propaganda.

You people have all gone soft, SOFT I tell you.

Back when I was young we used to go for 5 mile runs before breakfast and have a cold shower every night.

Now you lazy overweight chain smoking pot heads lie around the house all day playing your x-stations and jerking off to interweb porno.

Time we bought in conscription, get you sloths out of the house and back on the parade ground.

We could start with the people here, before you make your next post do 5 pushups, thats with your knees of the ground nancy boys.

Lay of the cigs, the beer and the right arm exercise and get some moral fibre.

I am gong to check up on you and particularly on the mods. Some of those new ones are a DISGRACE to humanity.

Take that Quicksilver person he is short overweight, bald and bandy legged, he looks like a barrel with coyboys legs. I am going to get him off the couch and back on the road running 5 mile sprints, with a full pack on.

Quicksilver, get your ass off that chair and get some exercise NOW!

Watch out the General is back.

Hey, why not keep your focus on your own life and stop worring about what others do.

If you wanna run, run...nobody is trying to stop you running.

If someone wants to sit around in their house and do nothing, who cares, it ain't hurtin' anyone.

The day I come to your house and sit in your living room and stink up your house with my smoke is the day you can come and sit in my house and stink it up with opinons of how I should live.

The trouble with people today is that they are soft. There is only 3 generations between the good people and the lazy. The Grandfathers do the work, the fathers see how the work was done, but the sons know nothing of true work.

Conscription is the answer to our country's problems, you lazy drug heads are the thrid generation, you know nothing of real work, real suffering and real committment. You live in a fantasy land surounded by computer and TV, where your reality is dictated to by your passions. You believe in aliens more than you belive in God. You believe in rights more than you believe in duty.

You have lost touch with reality.

I have come so that you may find that reality again, a relity that we had to fight for and protect, a reality that in your slothful indolence you are losing, your freedom is disolving like water turns to steam, but still you look at your computers and not see the truth.

I have come that you may see that truth again.

Get ready, the General is here and he takes no sh1t. (what half as$ed goober changes sh1t to shoe???) Never mind that I will repair as well.

If people want to smoke, let them smoke. Obviously they know it's no good for them, but surely it's their decision.

Anti smokers, LEAVE SMOKERS ALONE!!!!!

Oh and another thing.... How sodding anoying are those stupid captions on cigarette packets.

General, I just gotta ask 2 questions.

1. Is conscription your answer to everything?

2. How long did you work for Heinrich Himmler?

Yes, conscription IS the answer to everything.

You would become a REAL man hillbilly, if you spent 16 weeks in the barracks with other men, training hard every day, and eating healthy food for a change.

You know your problem? You are not challanged enough. You sit at home smoking drinking and lazing your life away and you never know the fear of death, the resolve that it takes to go into battle, the knowledge that today could be your last and to live it hard.

You are weak hillbilly. a sloth a grass gub who never become a butterfly.

Cut out your filthy habits that destroy your body and spirit, Become a REAL man, not just a media stereotype of nancy boys with tattoos and body piercing (sickening as they are), and for God's sake get a CREW CUT!

I am going to whip you in to shape hillbilly.

be warned...

I've done those things. Nearly 4 years so far in law enforcement. Four years of getting shot at, hated and nearly getting killed.

I've risked my life for what I believe in. Can you say the same?

That is friggin hilarious.
Whip em into shape.

Thats funny.

I think you should seek some therapy and deal with those issues that have made you so jaded and bitter.

I think you will be happier if you just let loose and just have a good cry. The world aint changing old man, you are.

Hillbilly you have done that then I congratulate you, you are indeed one of the protectors of our society. But then you too must have seen the decay and decline of our nation and surely you too have realised that the life of our youth is a life of sub-normality.

They are unaware of the existance of the real world outside of the their artificial realities, they look on our fine men at war as they would watch a movie, not realising the sacrifice they and their families make.

They see guns and they see posessions and baubles to own, and do not know the damage a bullet makes as it rips through the chest, or the sight and smell of a fatal head shot.

They think death is funny, that it does not involve them, yet they walk the road of a kind of death every day. Not death as our fine men in the military face, but death of theirselves immersed in their fake lives and futile strivings for posessions.

But what is just is bad is that they kill their own bodies with their drugs, with their cannibis and their ciggarettes, and alcohol, that breaks down the will and weakens the spirit. Such is the death that the youth of today face, a death in WEAKENSS, a death in SURRENDER a death in SELF ABUSE.

Smokers are self abusers, just as people who mutilate themselves are and drug adicts.

Get a will, get a backbone, get out of self abuse NOW!

And Markus, you are like that chicken doing the dance of death, you too will be whipped into shape, I insist that upon reading this that you drop to your knees and give me 5 full pushups I don't care that you have a beer gut. Five, you hear that? NOW

*salutes the general*

He's got a good point.
People in Western societies have become lazy. They expect everything to be done for them without lifting a finger themselves.

How then can they whine when things blow up in their faces?

As for the smoking issue. If you want to commit suicide that's up to you. But what really gets my goat is these dudes who later get cancer and start whining and whinging and sueing.
It's your choice to die. Don't bore the rest of us with your sob stories whilst you're clocking out.

Well, the issue is not what smoking does, but rather the freedom to do it.

But I do have to agree with General on the youth of today.

I smell a pile of BS here...

What reality do you wish to present to others? Death isn't such a horrible thing. Just a continuation of life by other means. The body is merely a shell. And, personally, I think everything can be funny.

No one has the right to tell who to do what with their bodies. That body doesn't belong to you.

As for our armed forces. They are completely voluntary. Though, I believe there is a problem with destitute people looking to the army as an easy way out. However, these people are volunteers, no one forces them to join the military, and they get what they asked for when they join.

And what exactly is wrong with all these "self abuses" as you put them. Do they affect you? I think not, so why should you care what others do to themselves--leave 'em alone and let them do it...

...but back to my original point. I think you're full of it...

Thankyou leveller, its good to see that there is another man in this thread, and not just me.

Get off your knees 'gentlemen' and boys. start to live your life as if you really had a life to live, instead of waiting for your death through your drugs or your meaningless violence.

The only people who thank you for your support of smoking are the tobacco companies who make the billions of dollars from your addiction, they are no more than legalized drug pushers and you are nothing more than the saps who are addicts.

The tobacco industry takes your praise all the way to the bank, you take your praise all the way to the morgue.
