British Prime Minister, Tony Blair has commited himself to adopt a hard line on the issue pertaining to the roll back of European Union farm
subsidies, much to the dismay of French leaders.

Prime Minister Tony Blair says he will be "diplomatic but firm" in telling EU nations he will discuss the UK's rebate only if large farm subsidies
are axed.
Mr Blair has now arrived in Germany as part of a whirlwind tour which will also include talks in France.

I suppose a more flexible stand would help both parties as neither are willing to give in to the other's demands.
Such a "lock-horn" approach seriously undermines the solidarity of the European Solidarity
