Just wandering what everyone liked to drink (if you do). Got any good mixed-drink recipes?

My favorite is: Jack Daniels Whiskey

French Cider, especially Breton and Norman farm cider, is the best drink in the world.

Vanilla Coke with Torres Brandy and a slice of lemon comes a close second

Try both these drinks NOW

Russian vodka. Cristall, to be exact.
www.cristall.com...
Their Posolskaya is rather nice, too.
If it's a long-drinking night, I mix it with cranberry. Otherwise, straight outta the freezer.

If I can get it, though...
Gimme some 'shine.

www.ibiblio.org...
Ain't nothing like some Carolina 'shine after getting a rib or two cracked!

Jack Daniels with Coke and a twist of Lemon.

And for Beer: Corona's with a twist of Lemon, or Budweiser.

Cristall is actually easier to get in the States now than it was a few years ago. You should be able to find it at your local liquor store.
It's not any stronger than other vodkas, but it's taste is deceiving...you don't get the "WHOA!!!!" effect that comes with drinking other vodkas straight, so it's easier to drink more than you meant to.

And if you like Everclear, try to get your hands on some real backwoods 'shine.
It's stronger.

Laphraoiag.

chebob,

Unfortunately almost all absinthes legally imported to the UK are imitations. They will leave you with a sore gullet and bad head, but provide none of the sought-after effects.

Does America get Oranjeboom? It sounds stupid, but it is the greatest Lager in THE WORLD. period.

Beer, but I usually like to start off with an Red Eye.

FYI an Red Eye is a mixture of beer and tomato juice.

Remember the guy who taught Tom Cruise how to become a bartender on "Cocktail" the movie.
That when I first learn beer can mix with tomato juice.
Guess I was only a teenager back then.....

These are called "red beers" in Oklahoma. I had a very bad experience when I was a teenager with red beer. I think it caused some emotional scars...I haven't ever been able to go back there again.

Aww...Valhall...I'm sorry to hear that.
Thanks for the new terminology "Red Beer"
It does make sense since tomato juice gives a red colour look

BTW I would like to correct the following recipes.

The true Red Eye was actually beer mixed with tomato juice and a raw egg.
