Does anyone else have a bad feeling about this whole thing, the G8 and the Live8 events?
It has captured the interests of people due to the fact that all world leaders will be meeting together, and more people have been drawn to it due to the musical and celebrity appeal of Live8.
With so many people watching with interest, it would seem a perfect time for a "pre-planned attack", due to the massive interest recieved. Many people from all over the world probably feel very involved in the whole thing, with Bob Geldof inviting everyone over, urging everyone to get involved, etc. Then if something terrible were to happen, it could really have a great affect on many, many people, all over the world.
Just a little nagging feeling i have, that things will not go smoothly at all when this finally rolls around.
Anyone have fears about this? How do you see it going?

no more than any other event really, like the elections, olympics, etc.... Every time anything happens someone has 'a bad feeling'...

i am starting to think there will either NEVER be another massive terrorist attack in america OR, if there is, that it will be at least 5 years from now. i initially gave some thought to the "inside job" theories after sept. 11th but at this point, what benefit could there be in waiting 4 years to pull off ANOTHER inside job? obviously if terrorism is not an inside job it's perpetrated by terrorists, of whom there are far fewer these days. SO......i don't expect anything terror-wise at the G8 or anytime this year for this matter.... not that i don't view the bubble economy with some trepidation

Yeah, i understand what you are saying, but considering that the G8 is in the U.K. and there is something like five Live8 concerts, in different parts of the world, it kind of widens the target for a possible attack, and in attractive places also.
I usually have pretty accurate feelings for these things, and i have a lingering heaviness in my stomach concerning this. I hope i am wrong.

I hope nothing happens at the Live8 concert. Something might happen because why is it so far from Toronto? It's in Barrie! Only the Highway 400 Flea-Market up there. Far away from decent emergency response.

I don't think anything bad will happen up there, but in a major city later on, mabey.

the bad feeling i hav about Live8 is that only after pressure black or colored artists were included on the list of performing artists....

Live8 isn't a charity event, it's about cold hard cash....

here is a quote from B.Geldof:

"I would love it if the Africans themselves organised concerts"

Nuff said...

The Canadian G8 concert is in Barrie....and in the most populated area of Barrie. ( total population of 150,000 not including the 38,000 people attending the concert. The park is not really that close to the 400 market.
Right beside the concert is the Barrie Molson Center...our largest sports complex. About a thousand feet away is the major shopping area of south Barrie ( Walmart, Home depo, Cosco etc) I live 10 minutes away from this area an am a little concerned I admit. Is it a terror target ? Considering how bad the security probably is who knows. I pray its just a bad feeling I have.

I've been there many times, it's a nice little town. I've been to your Wal-Mart, virtually empty at times. I have relitives that live a stones throw away (litaraly) from the 400 Market. The Molson Ampatheater would be a good place to host it. Also they have the huge park, casino, etc. Plenty of places to accomidate 30,000+ people.

Well, it has happened. I don't really know what to say, it just seemed to make sense.
My thoughts are with anyone involved in todays events. Very sad.

Indeed it has happened. Now... it is only a matter of time before even more of "this" (Terroristic Acts) happen more often upon U.S. Soil and Abroad.

Wow, good call. It may just be a coincidence, you got the even right on the nose. Lets hope this will be the last of these attackes on innocent people. I don't really think that this event was G8/Live8 related, more of a random act of violence to induce fear.

It must have been planned to coincide with G8, I dont think the concerts helped by drawing the attention of the world to London, but hey these cowards will find a famous baby in a pram a good target. I thought too that something bad was on the cards but regarding the Olympic celebrations. It seems though that these cowards need a few weeks to plan things. Is there no end in sight........
