The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed a lawsuit in Michigan against the Sept. 11th inspired “Patriot Act” on the grounds that parts of it are unconstitutional.

At issue is Section 215 of the “Patriot Act,” which authorizes governmental agencies such as the FBI to search personal records, including those found in libraries, bookstores and busnisess.

The ACLU claims Section 215 violates the First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments to the US Constitution. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of 6 mostly Arab-American groups.
