Yes you are right "accidental death" can cover a variety of areas, I guess we will hear more about the exact way this young marine die or perhaps it will fade in the background.

Meanwhile the rumors will continue.

Sadly, this will probably be the case. When there is a premature
death of someone, it should be looked into in order to help save
others. Perhaps things can be learned about why this happened
and then steps can be taken to save others in similar situations.
Drug awareness... awareness about dangers in 'sex games' ...
whatever. But I'm willing to bet it just fades away and helpful
information will have been lost.

Another site has the story now

The Marine Corps identified the deceased as Sgt. Michael J. Carlson, 28, of Colorado Springs, Colo., a member of the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Thanks for the link sporty,

Braden said he didn’t know if Carlson had been a veteran of the war in Iraq or Afghanistan. However, his battalion has served in Iraq.

I guess it will make a difference if he was a "veteran or war" when it comes with the accidental death.
