It certainly seems like we being "conditioned" to accept loss of freedoms.

I think the attacks happened,not because of our freedoms,but because most people thought it would never happen.We got lazy.And we didn't pay attention to the world around us.

Exactly what "freedom" did you think you had, that you feel you are now loosing?

Right now I haven't lost any freedoms,but the government keeps repeating that thing's are going to have to change to fight this war.They want to poke around our computers,wiretapping ,freedom of speech are the ones I hear about the most.Then they tell us it's in our best interest.

Sorry but I will decide what is in my best interest,not the government or anybody else.

Most folks don't know what their liberties and rights are, therefore they do not know what happened to them the eight years before this administration; they instead fear what this administration will do because of the war on terrorism.

I am also concerned about what might happen to this country's God-given liberties and freedoms due to this war as well, but the shameful thing is most do not pay attention during the normal years.
How many people here screamed bloody murder when a woman and her husband were detained for a day or two when she had the audacity to yell at the then-president Clinton "You suck! Those men died in Somalia because of you!" That is what the freedom of speech is all about; you can tell the emporor he has no clothes, not about porn and vulgarity and burning the flag. The rights have been arped, perverted and mistranslated by activist judges and deviant media moguls for so long, Americans wouldn't understand their actual basic rights if you slugged them upside the noggin with the Constitution.

The dumbing down of the citizenry is close to completion. If it isn't in this generation, the fading of the liberties that most now don't understand anyway will be done.

Such is life in the world. The U.S. with its vague resemblance to the way it was established has lasted longer than what the founding fathers thought it would, anyway.
