Scientists have bred a controversial featherless chicken which they say is faster growing.

The birds, created at the Hebrew University in Israel, will not need to be plucked, saving money in processing plants.

While the researcher behind the breed concedes that they would not be suitable for cooler countries, he says that in hot climates, the birds would fare better.

Wow it looks freaky, but as long as they still taste good, they may just work. I can imagine eliminating the plucking step would be a good thing.

I don't understand why they don't engineer a cancerous mass of chicken like flesh. You dont' need beaks, brains or any of that. Make some immortal chicken breast that just soaks up nutrients and heals.

Apparently, when fully grown these chickens can be trained to roll around in breadcrumbs.

Really.
