Tonight at 8:35 p.m. p.s.t. I captured this strange cloud formation over Pahrump. Do you think Yahweh's mother-ship is cloaked inside?

Sorry I don't know how to make it smaller.

Great pic - any experts that can prove authenticity?

Looks pretty weird. Can't say i've ever seen a random cloud like that. There are like no other clouds in the sky, only that highly distinguishable object or whatever the hell it is. Awesome find. Where precisely is Pahrump? Nevada, i suppose?

pahrump is 60 miles from las vegas, it is in nevada.

This photo was taken this evening right off my front porch. We are in Nye county Nevada, not that far from Area 51.

Not Nevada Again!

Seriously, I think that is what is refered to as an Lenticular cloud formation; unusual, but not at all rare.

And they have been cited in any number of UFO sightings.

Beautiful photo, though

Great pic! Definitely one of the more symmetrical clouds I've ever seen. A slightly different angle or a bit more symmetry, and it would definitely look like a "disc".
And the size is perfect. Makes a nice desktop

Authenticity? Who would fake a pic of a lenticular cloud?

Great Picture! It looks very close and very big, and plopped right out on its own, definitly strange, i sure cannot remember seeing any clouds such as like it.
That picture would make a lovely background too!

Um let me guess?

Allow me to retract my orginal request - Its without doubt a lenticular cloud it seems.

Its all good.

Thanks for posting the cloud pic MountainStar.

Thanks for the compliments folks.
The 'cloud' actually remained in the sky for almost an hour. It was a 'little' spooky.

No, definitely a cloud. Note the fluffy bits coming off the bottom and right side. Not the behavior of a solid object. Now the hypothesis of a cloud "cloaking" an object might be another story....

P.S.

You have voted MountainStar for the Way Above Top Secret award. You have one more vote this month.

The least I could do for a cool desktop.

Interesting image.

Pity that there is no video of this cloud as it moves across the landscape.

Wouldn't a large metallic object that was extremely cold on its exterior surface look cloud-like in our atmosphere?

That is a cool pic and looks like a natural cloud. I did a quick image search on google and here's a link to other photos of lenticular clouds. Some of them are the most beautiful clouds I've ever seen.

im inclined to just pass it off as a cloud, but there are some reckonable cases where 'clouds' carry an uncanny resemblance to ufos. who knows, but check out some of these links i just googled.

ufocasebook.com...

and this one is refuted as one of the best, but this picture is all pixelated:
ufocasebook.com...

and this website is pretty wacko looking, but i have to admit the pictures had me stumped: www.spiritcaller.net...

I know it exists lenticular clouds. But however, we have a lot of sightings were ufos have been using this kind of shape to cloak themselves. So it is very difficult to say if it is a ufo or a cloud.
MountainStar, how did the supposed cloud disappeared ? How was its behaviour ? Was it moving in the wind direction ?

Um............

Its called a lenticular cloud. They form around the peaks of mountains. Its not a UFO.

My father lives in Pahrump. I see them quite often over where he lives.

It is not a cloaked UFO
