Mother-of-three Dawn Walker thought she had won a share of a £2million lottery jackpot - then was told she hadn't paid her stake money.

Dawn, 32, claimed she handed over £2 to join a syndicate just days before the big Saturday win. Her share would have been £275,000. Instead the other six people each pocketed £321,000.

Angry Dawn, from Whitchurch, Shropshire, said yesterday: "I got a text message saying I was not being included. I have given up my job because I just can't face the people I worked with."

The syndicate won on Saturday, May 21. Dawn, who worked for bakery firm Ann's Pantry in Crewe, Cheshire, claimed she joined on the Tuesday before that. "I handed over a £2 coin to cover my sub for the Wednesday and Saturday draws," she said. "But after they won the jackpot, I was told I'd only paid £1 and that was used for Wednesday's draw." None of the syndicate would comment.

A Camelot spokesman said: "Any dispute over winnings is a matter for the individual syndicate."

Ouch!
