So please explain how this is good as the American people's feedom has now been taken away. How do they get it back?

First they have to stop crying about 9/11 and stop being affraid (paranoid) of every terrorist alert or threat.

And second, they have to get of their lazy arses and do somethins about their rights being slowly taken away. Well IMO they are giving rights away just because they act like a scared little children. They are Americans for Christ sake. Land of the free and home of the brave. They souldn't be afraid of no-one.

The Patiot act is crap, closing our "open" borders would have protected america better than this law. It is more of a tool for putting down a popular uprising of the people, now what is the Government tryin to hide needing such powers
