A crowd had gathered in a public hall in London, England in 1934. A young scientist who claimed he had discovered the secret to electromagnetically-induced invisibility stepped into an open-front cabinet onstage. He wore on his head a device called an Electro-helmet along with some other paraphernalia. He reached up to touch two contacts above his head with both hands before giving the signal for the switch to be thrown. The switch allegedly sends electrical current to his strange devices, and his body gradually vanishes from his feet to his head.

I have a hard time believing this story for the fact that it was 1934 in England. Wouldn't the public have heard a lot more about this by now? Also if it was in 1934 woulnt that just be average equipment for the now modern soldier? If anyone has an opinion or information on this topic please post.

Im guessing a combination act of illusion and urban myth brought to a boil by Claude Rains' film The Invisible Man, one year prior.
