I uninstalled it. I deleted all the files for it. ANd it STILL shows up in the corner of my screen (where the date/time and other background programs are) I want to get rid of it!!!!!! How do i do this?

Its probably too late for this, but....

Uninstall Quicktime Instructions

Make sure you click the uninstall everything button.

Or Start --> Run --> Msconfig and uncheck it.

You may want to download, install, and run Startup Control

It wont uninstall it, but it will allow you to choose if it runs at start or not.

Thanks makeitso. I tried what you suggested, but at first I got an error, related to the fact that I had manually deleted all the QuickTime files I could find. So I reinstalled Quicktime, and then I followed the directions exactly as you gave them. This time it worked perfectly, and when I rebooted my computer, no quicktime on the taskbar!

I should say, I followed the instructions in the 'uninstall quicktime instructions' link above, in case anyone else wants to remove quicktime. I didn't try the other suggestions; there was no need to.
