Air Force One isn't old enough to be replaced by 2010. They used the 707s for 30 years before replacing them. Really on the inside it's just an
amazingly beautiful business jet. I've been on it, and it's gorgeous inside. The biggest advantage to it is that it's the White House that travels.
It has all the comforts of the Oval Office, with an operating room included. When I went on it, there were 84 regular phones, I believe 20 or 30
secure lines, and many data lines. It does have an air refueling capability, but is never used, especially with the president on board, unless it's a
dire emergency. They won't discuss much about the countermeasures, but it has an ECM suite to make a B52 jealous, chaff, flares, and missile
detection gear on the back of all four engine mounts just above the engine exhaust. As a little bit of useless trivia, it's only AF1 when the
president is on board, and it only got the callsign, because when the first AF1 was going to Georgia on a golfing trip, the ATC called and told them
to descend, and another plane answered, as they both had the same callsign. Oh, and the escort is not currently being used. It was only used on 9/11
after the attacks and for the first days after.
