Asala didn't tell me.... maybe, just maybe you should give some of us credit as being intelligent and being able to figure out the answer to a riddle ?

The answer "newspaper" doesn't jive with your riddle.

Dr Love, you are correct that i made a couple of typo's, but this is an old riddle and that's the version i heard years ago.

During its 'life', certain parts can become grey...

refers to the black ink smudging onto the white paper as one reads and 'thumbs' through it.

And the newspaper 'dies' when it has been read, and is thrown out. It's a play on words.
