I thought it would be fun if we played a little short story game. I am going to start off the short story with one sentence. I am only allowed to write antoher sentence once another sentence from someone else is added. This goes for everyone. If you write a sentence, you have to wait until someone else has added a sentence until you can add another one. Lets see where are imaginations combined can take us! Have fun!
PS. it would be great if we could only have lines for the short story in here, no comments. Maybe I'll make a comment thread somewhere else if this gets going well.

Here we go:

He lay silent, trying to keep his breath softer than the harmonic drops of rain beating on the battle stricken forest.

Time seemed to stand still for our warrior friend, his thoughts drifting between the fight awaiting him and battle that had just climaxed.

Yet his heavenly reverie was constantly being interupted by the brush surrounding his body like moving hands, at mercy to the growing storm.

The cries and moans of the wounded and dying lying all around him in the forest were slowly drowned out by the ferocity of the weather, insulating him from the searchers stalking him.

He wiped the blood from his sword with one of his foes shirts, " It's Time to go."

The water slid down his wet skin as he rose from the forest floor, followed by his fellow men rising in unison behind him.

Scores of enemy dead around them, and in countless battles before, bore mute testimony to the effectiveness of this fighting unit.

Gliding forward, the dense under brush encompassed the fleet, allowing them to move unnoticeable.

Enveloped in the misery of moisture and blood, they gather strength from one another, as they pass silently through the underbrush.

Nothing could be heard except the deep moaning of the ancient trees being pounded by the wind and crushed by the lighting, yet they moved on.

Suddenly, from their right flank, came the unmistakable clank of metal on metal, quickly drowned out by the boom of thunder as lightning crackled again above them.

The soldiers tired eyes looked toward the sound, and their leader drew his sword again.

A man of titanic size clad in blackened steel emerged from the mists like a mountain in the storm.

Out of the pack the warrior emerged, drawing his sword and eyeing his beastly opponent.

Taking a deep breath of courage, he charged toward the monstrous enemy sword ablaze in the sudden lightning flash!

Blinded by the lightning, the lumbrous beast swumg his club helplessly through the air, as the warrior slid underneath his reach.

The warrior advanced again, now with his deathlly blows flowing in harmony with the lighting's pounding furry on the forest floor.

distracted by the throes of battle, the beast fails to notice the onslaught of armed 'foes'

The gaurd at his rear came forward en mass, and the dark beast was skewerd & sliced to pieces, and fell where he stood.
