Voice recognition is getting more accurate and so is speech synthesis and the way that machinies can talk back to us.
Slowly, as these systems become more reliable and cheaper, they are being used to replace jobs previously filled by humans.

It has happened to most of us. The phone call you make to your bank is answered by a talking machine. It asks questions, you answer and then it asks
more questions. Voice recognition systems are becoming more prevalent... and scarily efficient.

It's an interesting article, though it isn't specific as such about in particular major developments. However it does show another area of our lives
that is being taken over by machines.
As well as the fact that it means more people wil be out of jobs as more mundane tasks are replaced by computers, if you lend yourself to the idea
that in the future there may be problems arising from our attempts at Artificial Intelligence, here is yet another area of our lives that will be
controlled by them.
