For avatars, you can post them on sites like Imageshack and Photobucket and past the "direct link" into your member profile.

Thats the easiest way, and doesn't take up ATS bandwidth.

jackinthebox seems to have dug up a thread from 2002, so this information is out of date.

You can in fact host your avatar on the ATS servers in your member upload space. You may need to spend a few points at the ATS store, but click on the "MemCenter" button at the top of a page and go from there.
