Did anybody see the History Channel special on FDR this week? Really a great program. What particularly struck me, from a conspiracy pov, was the
Tyler Kent Affair.
Roosevelt established back-channel communication with Churchill before he became Britains PM, starting, interestingly enough, on Sept. 11, 1939. The
topics and points of view expressed by FDR were in direct conflict with what he was telling the American people at the time. Tyler Kent was the
cipher clerk who copied the secret communiques, with plans to provide them to FDR's isolationist opponents in the US. He was arrested and imprisoned
in England before he could go through with it.
I hadn't heard about any of this before. Just goes to show that history can conceal as well as reveal.
