pretty interesting technology but i still dont dink we need a weapon that fires 10s of thousands of rounds per sec. if it was me i need enough for just one target and move to another otherwise i be spending more time changing clips or if the gun i carry that fires that many rounds requires carrying a 10,000 round drum on my back.

Yhe OK.

But lets face it, that much fire power will ALWAYS come in handy.

The only real use I see for metal storm is anti rocket/RPG defense where the extremely high rate of fire is necessary. Otherwise..., well it's not too practical. So high rate of fire is never required, so many barrels are heavy etc...

You would think so wouldn’t you but infact the GUNS are very light weight & the Multi Barrel Canon Pod (main pic) has a rate of fire of between,
1-450 000 rounds per minute.

Yet it only weights 48kg, that’s half the weight of an average backpack carried by U.S & Australian forces right now.

As im sure you already know Australian Special Forces where the first to enter the war with Iraq back in 2001/2002.

They went into Iraq 2 months before all other forces with the job off seizing all of Saddam's short & long range missiles to prevent the bombing of neighbouring countries like Israel, which Sadam was responsible for in the first Iraqi war back in the early 90's. (Desert storm)

& It was such weapons as these that allowed the Australian forces to maintain continues weapons ground fire & grenade saturation,
that enabled them to secure Saddam's rockets & missiles.

Metal Storm also makes the remote controlled weapons system & devices mounted on an unmanned ground vehicle for the USA & Australian forces already.

The high rate of fire is useless, if you need to exchange the barrels after each burst
. Gatling minigun is not too heavy too and it has more ammo.

I dont think you do as it would be pointless, due toi the large number of extra barrels you would need to take into battle with you. ( insane )

Where did you see such a statment longbow, i would like to know
(( as if its true )) ............. insane.
