UK defence chiefs are planning to send British troops to Afghanistan, to try and stop the country heading towards civil War.

America has raised concerns that by deploying more British troops to Afghanistan, it would inevitably threaten the numbers already committed to helping out in Iraq.

DEFENCE chiefs are planning to rush thousands of British troops to Afghanistan in a bid to stop the country sliding towards civil war, Scotland on Sunday can reveal.

Ministers have been warned they face a "complete strategic failure" of the effort to rebuild Afghanistan and that 5,500 extra troops will be needed within months if the situation continues to deteriorate.

An explosive cocktail of feuding tribal warlords, insurgents, the remnants of the Taliban, and under-performing Afghan institutions has left the fledgling democracy on the verge of disintegration, according to analysts and senior officers.

The source actually states that "Secret UK troops plan for Afghan crisis". How has this information become public if it is secret?
If the UK does commit troops to Afghanistan, it would leave the them at a disadvantage if further developments were to occur else where. Would the UK get help from other nations? Or would it become a spin off from Iraq, with all the major players joining?

Update. Britsh defence chiefs have announced that they will be pulling 5500 troops out of Iraq within the next 12 months.

Getting a lot of U2U's saying this is bias.

Not sure how this can be. Its from a reputable source, as are the other links.

The intro paragraph should only consist of the facts drawn from the original news source.

You save your own point of view for the concluding paragraph

You've got "so I'm not sure if this plan will come to fruition." in the intro paragraph which is your opinion.

Remove those sorts of sentences and place them in the last paragraph and you should be ok.
