Newsweek gets blamed (by the administration) for their article on abusing the Quran. They claim its Newsweek's fault for the outbreaks of violence from Afghanistan to India. Newsweek packpeddles. And the Mideast burns...

Let's get something straight right now (as if it weren't already): The Bush administration is fully to blame for the violent reaction to the Newsweek article. Pure and simple. It is the fault of this maniacal, wreckless, idiotic Bush regime's Standard Operating Procedures with regard to treatment of detainees.

If something does not change in that regard, and SOON, we will pay a price far higher than any of us can even imagine. The only way we can ammend this disasterous situation is to hold the Bush administration accountable for the crimes they have committed in our name. That means we have got to impeach him and his cadre. Otherwise, we've only just seen the beginning of what is to come.

Read about the release of the latest report on abuses... It's beyond disgusting.

Afghan prisoners were 'tortured to death' by American guards
By Justin Huggler, Asia Correspondent
21 May 2005

Shocking and detailed accounts have emerged of how two Afghan prisoners were tortured to death by American interrogators and prison guards at Bagram air base, outside Kabul.

A 2,000-page report on an internal investigation by the US military leaked to The New York Times and published yesterday provides exhaustive detail on how the two were kept chained in excruciating positions and kicked to death.

The harrowing stories of the deaths of Habibullah and Dilawar told in the report could prove as damaging to the US as the photographs of prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib jail in Iraq.
